I have reached two months into my new blog. Blog traffic was the second thing on my blog to do list. During the month of August I had focused on creating content and pins ahead of time because with school and a full time job, time was my enemy. The last week of August I started promoting my blog, mostly on Pinterest and facebook. My top 3 referrals for traffic according to Google Analytics are 1. Pinterest (90%) 2. Facebook (7%) 3. Google+ (3%).
From September 14th to October 22nd, I had 9,893 page views. A real surprise as I never thought my blog traffic would be almost 10k page views in less than 2 months.
What Grew My Blog Traffic?
To be completely honest, I cannot pinpoint the exact method that cause this rise in my blog traffic but these are the methods and strategies I have been using since the end of August.
Pinterest group boards are the best things for your blog traffic. During the first week of my using Pinterest, I didn’t have much of a reach nor did I know who my audience was. With their new algorithms, I had no idea how to go about making Pinterest work for my blog. Then I bought Carly’s ebook, Pinteresting Strategies. Once I started implementing her strategies and using group boards to promote by blog, I started seeing a huge growth in my blog traffic. I went from having less than 200 page views to 3088 page views in less than a week. I woke up around 6 am one morning to this notification.
That day alone, my post Full Income Jobs for Stay at Home Moms generated over 2000 page views. For about two weeks I had to focus solely on my exams and I had a health issue so I wasn’t implementing Carly’s strategies and I realized there was a slight decline in my blog traffic.
I never knew the power of tailwind tribes in relation to blog traffic because from the start I’ve always used Board booster for my posts scheduling and that will never change.
You can sign up for a boardbooster free trial here.
However, I do use Tailwind as well to schedule and post other bloggers’s pins. Tailwind Tribes are about sharing yours and other bloggers’s work. Ever since I started using tribes, my pins have been repinned continuously and I currently have 1 viral pin and a semi viral pin. All those repins came from the tailwind tribes and group boards I am a member of. Tailwind gives you free month trial to schedule pins which of course I took advantage of.

I am angry with myself because I never engaged in Facebook groups until a month after launching my blog. I was skeptical about Facebook groups generating blog traffic. That was because I never really understood how they worked. Once I started using facebook groups, I realized that my second social referral was facebook. Just to be completely open, I am not saying all facebook traffic was from group boards because I had about 2000 followers (I deleted over 1000 for personal reasons) and I linked my blog posts to my facebook status which contributed to my traffic.
Life In Your Wallet is not my first blog and before I decided to launch it, I did a lot of research and signed up for a couple free courses. Now that I have successfully launched this blog, I am still working on blog traffic but my next focus is monetizing my blog. I hope you have as much traffic success on your blog as I have so far!
