Who doesn’t like to make extra money? I’ve read so many testimonials about making extra money when I was a late teen that I decided I would be one of those people. I have set financial goals all my adult life. My goals for the past 2.5 years have been to earn extra money and save a hefty emergency fund.
As an adult, we all have the urge to make more money which is extremely important as many unexpected incidents occur. Everyone’s financial goal differs, whether it is to save for an emergency fund, build your general savings, save for early retirement or just knowing that you’re financially stable.
💰 I started several income streams or side hustles over the past few years with the latest one being blogging. I’ve had several readers reach out asking about side hustles I’ve done or is doing and I decided to give a break down of my earnings from October 2017.
💻 My most recent income stream is blogging. I started this WordPress blog 3 months ago with Bluehost. They are a highly recommended web host that Michelle from Making Sense of Cents had suggested. You can start your own blog for as low as $3.95/month with the 12 months plan in which you will receive a free domain for a year. I recently monetized my blog and have earned some money from it.
You can follow this step by step guide on how to start a blog if you are interested in having your own little corner of the web.
💻 My oldest way to make extra money is with survey sites. However, I only used Swagbucks last month because I didn’t have the patience to participate in any surveys (I wasn’t in the mood), instead I only watched TV shows and videos.
📖 My largest side hustle is from my eBook which is a romance novel. Suffice to say it took a while but I started getting more and more downloads over the past year and a half. This is my main passive income stream and I couldn’t be happier with it.
👗 My very first affiliate income stream is with Shopstyle Collective. It is all about fashion and beauty. For each click on any item I advertise, that’s $0.05. Even without sale you earn. I use my Instagram to drive sale.
💻 Web design I have only ever done once for someone else. I usually design and do the techy things for my blogs but it gets nerve racking when it belongs to someone else. Turned out really well and the owner loved it so thank God for that. Probably won’t do it again though.
So what were my earnings?
My total revenue for October was $2076.76. I’ll start with my highest earnings to the lowest.
- Ebook was $755.00
- Web design $550.00
- Shopstyle Collective $375.00
- Affiliate Marketing (bluehost, Pinterest Strategies and Shareasale) $210
- Google Adsense $120.76
- Swagbucks $66.00 (earnings carried over from September included)
I really hope a peek into my side hustle earnings encourage others to try ways to make extra money.
